General info on Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, with fortress Revelin, Lovrijenac and Minčeta the most northern fortress, the Gate of Pila, the great Onforio fountain, Franciscan monastery, the Dukes Court, the Sponza Palace and Orlando's column was placed on UNESCO's list of world heritage sights in 1979. Dubrovnik gained its sovereignty after the 13 century when the Republic of Dubrovnik was formed.
